2. Principles

We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide this website and to handle your enquiries, or where you have given consent. Data is shared with third parties only where legally permitted or necessary to fulfil a contract.

3. Access data and server log files

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically processes data transmitted by your browser:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the file retrieved
  • Volume of data transferred and confirmation of successful retrieval
  • Browser type, browser version and operating system
  • Referrer URL, meaning the previously visited page

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) f GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technically sound and secure operation of the website. This data is not combined with other data sources and is deleted after a short period.

4. Cookies and local storage

This website does not set technically necessary cookies in the classic sense. Your selection in the cookie banner is stored in your browser's local storage under the key valantaris-consent so that you do not have to decide again on every visit. Only the selected categories, a timestamp and a version number are stored. This information is not transmitted to us and remains in your browser.

The legal basis for storing your consent is Art. 6 (1) c GDPR in conjunction with the documentation obligation under Art. 7 (1) GDPR.

5. Web analytics with Google Analytics 4

If you have given consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Data processed: truncated IP address, device and browser information, approximate location, pages visited, time on site and interactions on the website.

Purpose: statistical analysis of usage in order to improve the content and structure of this website.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) a GDPR (consent). Without your consent the analytics script is not loaded and no data is transmitted to Google.

IP anonymisation: transmission uses the anonymize_ip setting. Your IP address is truncated by Google within the EU or EEA before further processing.

Third-country transfer: transmission to Google LLC in the USA cannot be excluded. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46 (2) c GDPR apply in addition.

Withdrawal: you can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. The lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal remains unaffected.

6. Contact form

If you write to us using the form on our contact page, we process the data you provide in order to handle your enquiry. Mandatory fields are name, email address and message. The remaining fields such as company, phone number, website, type of pawn business and areas of interest are voluntary and help us prepare the conversation.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) b GDPR where your enquiry aims at entering into a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) f GDPR based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

We delete the data once the matter has been concluded, provided no statutory retention obligations apply.

7. Online appointment booking

On the Book a call page you can book an introductory call. For this we process the chosen time, the call format, your name, your email address and, voluntarily, your company, phone number, selected topics and a message. For a phone call the phone number is required so that we can call you.

Process: After booking, you and we each receive an email with a calendar file (iCalendar format, file extension .ics). The calendar file contains the date, time, call format and the names of the participants. The emails are sent via our hosting provider's mail server.

Storage on the server: To prevent a slot from being booked twice, we store the booked time on our server together with a randomly generated identifier and the booking time. Your name, contact details and message are not stored there. This entry is deleted automatically once the appointment has passed.

Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) b GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request). To protect against abuse, your IP address is stored only as an irreversible hash for at most one hour in order to limit the number of bookings per connection (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR).

We delete the email containing your details as soon as it is no longer needed for preparing and holding the call and any subsequent cooperation, provided no statutory retention obligations apply. You can cancel an appointment at any time by replying to the confirmation or by phone.

Registration for online events: If you register for an online event on the same page, we process your name, your email address and, voluntarily, your company in order to send you the invitation with a calendar file and the access link, and to hold the event. You and we each receive an email for this; nothing about the registration is stored on our server. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) b GDPR. Protection against abuse and deletion follow the rules described above for appointment booking. You can cancel your registration at any time by replying to the confirmation.

8. Contact by email and phone

If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) b or f GDPR.

9. Hosting

This website is hosted by a service provider within the European Union. The provider processes the access data described in section 3 on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

10. Encryption

For security reasons this website uses TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar and by the address beginning with https://.

11. No external fonts, maps or videos

We do not embed external fonts, map services or video platforms. All fonts, images, videos and scripts are delivered from our own server. No automatic connection is established to Google Fonts, YouTube, Vimeo or comparable services.

12. Your rights

You have the right at any time to:

  • Access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of incorrect data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Withdraw consent you have given (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)

13. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for our company is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.

14. Changes to this policy

We update this privacy policy whenever the legal situation, our services or our data processing changes. The version published on this page applies.
